Wish to learn as much as possible about the breed before purchasing a puppy. They are very appealing & I think will suit my circumstances etc.

Thank you so much for the grooming advice. I have 3 minis and have decided to groom them myself to save some pennies. I did one of them today using your tips and I must say he doesn't look too bad! Thanks again! :)

I have 4 Ykelenstam mini's. They are all unique with wonderful personalities. Motion and Kizmet were two beautiful moms and can be seen on the retired page. Oscar and Homer are my two handsome boys :P . They make my laugh everyday and will always lift my spirit when the world gets me down. There is nothing in the world like a schnauzer kiss!!!!

I love your site and your viewpoint of docking. I agree that it is a horrendous act.
I have fallen in love with a friend's mini and am looking forward to getting one of my own. (Not sure how soon - perhaps sooner than I know.:))
Hers seems to do fine with my six cats, and visa-versa. How much are your baby girls? Am looking toward light silver with white.
I am willing to drive there from Florida - of course I will need directions and time.

thank you for the grooming tips! I have been researching proper trimming techniques as my schnauzer's safety and comfort are very important to me. And, you aren't kidding that this breed is social. Mine talks to me and cuddles all the time.

Enjoyed reading your site - we have a minature schnauzer 7 months old! her name is Tyla and she is a real character. This is my first dog and i have already attended puppy school with her. There are some things I was wondering about as far as her reaction to unknown noises and bicycles when we are out walking. Thanks.

Just a note to say how I've enjoyed your website over the years. I've had mini schnauzers from the early 1960s and it is a joy to see how you promote the breed to the betterment of the breed. THANK YOU for all you do!

No exaggeration! What adorable puppies and parents you have. My husband and I are addicted schnauzer owners.and we may look you up when visiting PEI this August. Most impressed by your anti-cropping, anti-docking policies.

I enjoyed looking at your web page so much. I have a mini schnauzer thats almost 2yrs old. I want a companion for her, we recently had went to a breeder but the pups were kept in kennels and were not friendly. We decided not to get the pup. I so wish I could find someone like you here in Indiana.

Thanks for the grooming page.
I didn't think I could afford a schnauzer because of the cost of grooming one every 8 weeks.
I have now bought one which is 12 weeks old today.
I bought the Wahl clipper as had not read your web site beforehand. Hope it works a well as the Andis.
Thanks very much wink

I enjoyed checking out your page and reading about your dogs! I'm glad to read that you have chosen to leave the new puppy's ears & tails alone. To dock their tails sounds incredibly painful! I hope more people will stop this practice!

We hope to come to PEI next year. Can we come and see your schnauzers? We lost our schnauzer several years ago and have not had a dog since. I appreciate your decision not to dock tails and to keep the natural ears on your pups. Your site has a lot of good information about the care you give your dogs.

Thank you for an informative website that was very useful. We have a one year old silver (pure white) miniature schnauzer named Gracie that has been a great addition to the family. She came from a breeder in Winfield, Alberta. We are first time pet owners (besides family pets growing up) and love the breed and their personalities.

Thank you so much for having a wonderfull website. I just acquired a companion, my first mini schnauzer. His name is Jack. Your grooming page is very easy and understandable. And let me add that your dogs are all very beautiful, Jack is all black and he is so very sweet. Thank you for enofrcing no docking and no ear clipping, Jack had his tail docked, but in the future I will do my best to keep this from happening near me Thank you! :)

I recently lost two schnauzers one to old age and one to cancer. I am looking to adopt two more black and white furry children into my home. You are in Canada so I am wondering about shipping dogs that far away. I of course live far away in Boulder City Nevada which is south of Las Vegas.

Really enjoyed your website and the info in it. I am newly arrived in North Carolina from Australia where I was a registered breeder. I bought my 4 mini-schnauzers with me. Like your opinions about ear cropping and tail docking which are illegal in Aus. I noticed that you have white dogs, are they recognised by the Canine organisations in Canada? Also wanted some info on liver and liver and white dogs. Are they recognised in Canada?

Hope you can help me.

Thanks

I love the surroundings that you have for your dogs. I'm presently looking for a salt & pepper puppy. We do have a trip planned for the end of April until the 5th of May. ( daughter's wedding)I was looking for some CKC registered breeders in Nova Scotia or PEI.

This is by far the very "bestest" source of information about Miniature Schnauzers as well as dogs in general. I love how sensible, make-no-bones comments cut through all that hype regarding commercial dog food, cosmetic surgeries, "rare" colors etc. myths. I am also amazed how accurate are descriptions of the breed as well as supported by facts (e.g. issue of fats in Minischnauzer diet)It is both amazing and heartwarming that someone actually took time and dedication to provide all that sensible education to all readers - thank you so very much!! :thumb

Thank you so much for your kind comments about our website. We very much appreciate it when people take the time to read even some of the info that we have taken the time to provide. You obviously have spent a lot of time browsing through all the many pages of information. :)

Thank you so much for this site! I pass through the pages much like a journal, sharing the lives of these beautiful dogs. It helped us choose our 1st mini schnauzer (Dolly is 6 now). The puppy pics and videos are adorable. We can't get enough. Your dogs are loved and love in return.

We shared our home with a much-loved Silver mini Schnazer for 14 1/2 years. The hole she has left in our hearts is enormous. She was Obedience trained (came first in her class) and went everywhere with us.Texas Ontario, Saskatchewan Manitoba (where she was bred) and finally British Columbia.
Her calm and quiet personallity (Yes! Schnauzers CAN be taught not to bark incessantly!) and her sweet nature drew people to her, and led us to many new friends.
She is missed.
Your kennel sounds caring and wonderful.
Wish I lived nearer.

Thank you so much for your helpful guidance with grooming our "Pepper." My daughter and I have just completed our first attempt at grooming him ourselves. We have always taken him to a professional but the economy has prompted us to change this. He was so well behaved and we succeeded without nicking him at all. Thanks again.

I am very impressed with your website and also your love of Mini's. I have had 3 of them and loved all of them. I have a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) who is 11 months and I am looking to for a Mini Schnauzer also. I was looking on the internet and came across your site. Your puppies, outlook and home life is just the kind of breeder I am looking for. You can feel the love for the mini's on the website. Most other sites I have found leave me with a feeling of apprehension on the care of the animals. Thank you and I at least feel that I may have found the breeder I am looking for.

We have a 14 week old, black miniature schnauzer. Her name is Liesl. She's such a joy! It is our second one, having had one years ago when first married. "Bella" was a beautiful silver mini. "Liesl" is just about house broken (occasional pee accident) and is in the "chewing" stage.yikes!

Just want to say thanks for the info on the grooming! I have been sending my Mini shnauzer, Pepper to the groomers since he was a puppy and now he's almost 2 and it gets expensive. So I found your info on grooming very helpful so I can do it myself. Thanks again!

I love your how to groom your schnauzer pages. I've put them on my favorites tab. They are very useful to me, I refer to them every time I clip my two schnauzers.

Thank You for your help. :)

Hello. What a welcoming site. I have been a proud owner of a Black & Silver Mini. His name was Michael James, named after Michael Jordan. However everyone knows there's only one Michael Jordan so. He was the love of my life, and my extended family had/has a special place in their heart for having known him. They are quite the social animal and very loving. I really enjoyed looking at your photos. Alot of love shared.

Since I was thinking of breeding my mini, I was wondering why tails were docked. IF it is only cosmetic.I wish her tail hadn't been docked (too short too). I hope that if I have questions, you'll be able to help me answer them.

I thoroughly enjoy viewing your website! We have our first Mini Schnauzer and we're completely smitten. She's 2 1/2 now, we got her at 3 months. Her name is Annie and she's a small salt & pepper. We're hoping to get another sometime in the near future as we've had to have her fixed. She's our little sweetie.
Thanks so much for your website I give it a 10 :thumb

What a lovely website! I googled schnauzer images as it was time to change my wallpaper, I now have "can you see the toy" to look at. We have two boys, Oliver and Sparky. Schnauzers are my favourite dogs.

Just Me, G!
THank you. This was a well designed and comprehensive site. I was looking for a site that had grooming techniques. I have a mini schnauzer that I just got on Oct. 26th 2009, and he was born July 13th of 2009. I had one 12 years ago that I groomed myself but after so many years I wanted to refresh my memory before I took on this task. Thank you again!
